Deutschland hat im Durchschnitt die älteste Bevölkerung in Europa und nach Japan die zweitälteste der Welt. Einwanderung ist deshalb notwendig.

Das Durchschnittsalter der Deutschen beträgt 46,8 Jahre. Niger ist das Land mit der jüngsten Bevölkerung: Hier beträgt das durchschnittliche Alter 15,3 Jahre.

Diese starken Unterschiede können zum einen damit erklärt werden, dass Menschen in einem Land länger leben als in einem anderen, beispielsweise durch eine gesündere Lebensweise oder eine bessere ärztliche Versorgung. Zum anderen kann es sein, dass in Deutschland nur wenige Kinder leben, dafür aber besonders viele ältere Menschen.

Last Thursday the KATAPULT had the chance to speak to a young woman in Russia about the situation inside the country. Originally it was planned as a video-interview. However the newest regulations in Russia which suppress the freedom of press and punish the spreading of information against the government are punishable with a prison sentence of up to 15 years. That’s why the interview will now be published as completely anonymized text. The photos were sent by the interviewee. Her name and hometown has been verified by KATAPULT.
