Für immer 0 Streams wegen Spotify

Auf Spotify entscheidet vor allem die Anzahl der Streams darüber, wie viel Geld den Künstler:innen zusteht. Als ein Stream wird gezählt, wenn jemand ein Lied mindestens 30 Sekunden lang anhört. Auf dem neuen Album von Valentin Hansen sind alle Lieder aber genau 29 Sekunden lang. Es heißt auch noch „Crisis (The Worthless Album)“. Warum macht er das? Ein sehr kurzes Interview.

Valentin Hansen: Wie viel ist Musik wert? Spotify sagt ~0,004 Euro pro Song, ich sage 0,00 Euro. Dafür musste ich alle Songs auf 29 Sekunden schneiden.

KATAPULT: Warum 0,00 Euro? Du bist Musiker – ist das nicht ziemlich dumm von dir?

Valentin Hansen: Das ist es ja auch bei 0,004 Euro oder?

However the newest regulations in Russia which suppress the freedom of press and punish the spreading of information against the government are punishable with  a prison sentence of up to 15 years. That’s why the interview will now be published as completely anonymized text. The photos were sent by the interviewee. Her name and hometown has been verified by KATAPULT.
