Den Grünen fehlen nur 23 Stimmen für den Einzug in den Landtag.

Stand Sonntag 21:00 Uhr sitzen sowohl die Grünen (4,995 Prozent), als auch die FDP (4,8 Prozent) und die Linke (2,6 Prozent) nicht im Landtag. Der saarländische Verfassungsgerichtshof hatte bereits 2015 Zweifel an der Verfassungsmäßigkeit und Notwendigkeit der 5-Prozent-Hürde geäußert. In der letzten Wahlperiode fand dazu im saarländischen Landtag eine Expertenbefragung statt, jedoch ohne weitere Ergebnisse.

Klarer Gewinner der Wahl ist die SPD. Laut dem vorläufigen Ergebnis hat sie die absolute Mehrheit der Sitze im Landtag und könnte somit alleine regieren. Die CDU verlor über 12 Prozentpunkte im Vergleich zur letzten Wahl. Die Wahlbeteiligung war im Vergleich zur letzten Landtagswahl um 8,3 Prozentpunkte auf 61,4 Prozent gesunken.

However the newest regulations in Russia which suppress the freedom of press and punish the spreading of information against the government are punishable with a prison sentence of up to 15 years.
