The world’s oldest tennis player doesn't want to flee Ukraine

Leonid Stanislavskyi, is not experiencing the war for the first time. In 1941, he had to leave the city. With his mother he was evacuated to Novosibirsk. He doesn't want to leave his home country a second time. He wants to stay in Kharkiv as long as it’s possible.

In Kharkiv lives 97-year-old Leonid Stanislavskyi, who was listed as the oldest active tennis player in the Guinness Book of Records in 2021. He has been playing amateur tennis for 60 years. This sport is his passion, about which he can talk for hours. And it was his dream to play tennis against Roger Federer, the well-known Swiss tennis player, at the age of 100.
